Announce Essay Contest to Celebrate Beef For Father’s Day
All sixth grade students are invited to participate in an Essay contest celebrating Dads and Father-figures. Navidad Valley CattleWomen will be accepting entries through May 1, 2018.
The topic is: What makes my Dad (or Father figure) so great and why he should be awarded a beef gift certificate.
AWARDS:
1st prize - $50 beef gift certificate
2nd prize - $40 beef gift certificate
3rd prize - $30 beef gift certificate
Beef gift certificates are certified checks that can ONLY be used to purchase beef either at a meat market, restaurant or grocery store.
Numerous submissions can be picked up by a CattleWoman if necessary.

RULES:
- Entrants must be in the 6th grade or the equivalent thereof and reside in Fayette, Lavaca or Colorado counties.
- Essay must not be fewer than 50 words and no more than 250 words.
- Essay must be written solely by the entrant.
- Essays judged on both style and content.
- Must include with Essay a stapled cover sheet with the following to avoid disqualification:
- student's name
- address
- telephone number
- father's name or father figure's name
- school name
- school address
- teacher's name
- student's name
